The Department of Law is one of the first academic departments established at Nawroz University, dating back to the 2003-2004 academic year. The department focuses on building and developing theoretical and applied legal knowledge in law students. The program is five years long (annual system), during which students study a centrally defined curriculum standardized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research across all law faculties in the region's universities. This curriculum encompasses various branches of law, as well as some supporting sciences, distributed across five academic years. Upon successful completion of these five years, students are awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree. It is worth noting that the department accepts graduates of secondary school, both literary and scientific tracks, according to regulations and instructions predetermined by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region. Since its establishment up to the 2023-2024 academic year, the department has graduated eighteen classes in both morning and evening programs.
