Biography

Maryam W. Khalid is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Translation at the College of Languages, Nawroz University. She holds a Master’s degree in Computational Linguistics and has several years of experience teaching undergraduate courses in linguistics, grammar, syntax, and research writing. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she serves as the IELTS Registration Centre Coordinator at Nawroz University in collaboration with the British Council. Her academic interests include computational linguistics, applied linguistics, artificial intelligence in language education, English language teaching, language assessment, technology-enhanced learning, translation pedagogy, and pragmatics. Her current research explores the integration of AI tools into language learning and learners’ perceptions of educational technologies. Throughout her academic career, Maryam has presented her work at academic seminars, attended national conferences, supervised undergraduate translation projects involving the translation of books and texts between Arabic and English, and actively served on academic committees. She is committed to fostering innovative teaching practices, supporting students’ academic development, and contributing to the advancement of language education through research, collaboration, and the effective integration of emerging technologies.
