Biography
Shireen Jamal is an Assistant Lecturer and a member of the academic staff at Nawroz University, College of Languages, Department of Translation. Holding an M.A. in Linguistics, she has over a decade of experience in university teaching. Throughout her career, she has tutored a diverse range of subjects, including General English for non-departmental students, Pragmatics, Semantics, Translation (from and into English), Journalistic Translation, Interaction, and Economic Translation. Her major achievements include a decade of academic service, during which she has consistently delivered high-quality undergraduate lectures and contributed to curriculum design at various universities. She has been instrumental in curriculum diversification, developing and teaching complex course modules. Furthermore, she has made a significant cross-departmental impact by bridging the language gap for non-specialist students, thereby improving university-wide language proficiency. As a mentor, Shireen has spent ten years equipping translation students with the practical and theoretical tools necessary for the local and international job markets. Her work continues to advance the field through ongoing linguistic exploration and departmental academic development.
