The Center of Assessment and Quality Assurance

Introduction

The center of Assessment and Quality Assurance has an office at the Presidency of the University. Led by a director who only reports to the University President and an employee. Moreover, every college has a quality assurance coordinator.

Mission

The mission of the center is to enhance the academic development and the quality of the learning process at the university in order to meet international standards of higher education.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Checking and controlling the qualifications of the teaching staff.
  • Checking the Continuous Academic Developments (CAD) of the teaching staff.
  • Control Teachers portfolio. The center distributes assessment forms to all the colleges. Teachers’ performances are assessed by Deans and Head of Departments.
  • Distribute course book templates, according to higher standards of education, to all the teaching staff and control their content.
  • Checking Moodle regularly and reporting the results to the university president.
  • At the beginning of every academic year, the center organizes an intensive training for the teaching staff. The duration of the training varies from two to four weeks according to the needs. The training is done by qualified experts in the field of Pedagogy, research, information technology and quality assurance.

  • At the beginning of every academic year, an intensive training course is organized for the teaching staff.
  • Organizing a workshop about course book design.
  • All the course books are checked regularly.
  • Moodle is checked on regular basis.
  • Conduct Student Feedback surveys.

 

Future Goals (Goals for the next three years)

  • Aiming at making all quality assurance activities online and electronic.
  • Checking the university website to control whether it meets the international standards of education.
  • College Curriculum Committees (CCC) should present their curriculum for approval by University Program Effectiveness Curriculum Committee (UPECC).
  • Organizing more workshops related to academic accreditation.
