Nawroz University Hosts the 12th International Scientific Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and in the presence of Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as Prof. Dr. Muayad Aghali Merza and Prof. Dr. Hoger Taher Tawfiq, Vice Presidents of Nawroz University, alongside deans, academics, and researchers, the activities of the 12th International Scientific Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences commenced at Nawroz University in Duhok.

The conference is jointly organized by Imam Al-Mahdi Government University (Sudan) and the Ramah Center for Research and Human Resource Development (Jordan), and is being hosted by Nawroz University. The opening session was held in Rahmi Hakkari Hall.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Muayad Aghali Merza, Vice President of Nawroz University, welcomed the participating researchers and wished them a pleasant stay in Kurdistan and Duhok. He expressed his hope that their studies and research would contribute to serving humanity, advancing scientific research, and supporting the academic community.

For his part, Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conveyed the Minister’s support for such conferences and wished success to the participants and researchers coming from various Arab countries. He emphasized the importance of organizing scientific gatherings that strengthen cooperation among universities, scientific institutions, and research centers across the region.

It is worth noting that researchers from several Arab countries are participating in the conference both in person and online. They will present research papers on significant topics in the fields of humanities and social sciences. The conference activities will continue over two consecutive days.
