Nawroz University Launches First Phase of Cooperation with Ecosia to Promote Environmental Sustainability

Nawroz University, through its Health and Safety Directorate, organized an introductory seminar in cooperation with Ecosia on Saturday, October 17, 2026, as part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.

The seminar was delivered by Mr. Masoud Mohammed, a representative of the initiative, and attended by academic staff from the College of Law.

During the session, Mr. Mohammed outlined the initiative’s objectives, implementation plan, and key stages of cooperation, highlighting the role of the university community in supporting environmental protection and tree-planting initiatives.

The first phase will focus on organizing awareness seminars for academic staff across Nawroz University’s colleges. Subsequent phases will involve students, encouraging broader participation in environmental activities.

Ecosia is an environmentally focused search engine that supports tree-planting projects worldwide through revenue generated from online searches.

This cooperation reflects Nawroz University’s commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainable development, and greater engagement of academic staff and students in initiatives that contribute to a greener future.
