Nawroz University Participates in the International Universities Council (IUC) Meeting

On Monday, June 22, 2026, the President of Nawroz University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, accompanied by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, officially participated in a meeting with Mr. Orhan Hikmet Azizoglu, President of the International Universities Council (IUC), in Erbil. Nawroz University is among the Council’s active and prominent member institutions.

During the meeting, several important and new initiatives were discussed, including the organization of an international conference on Environment and Agriculture in Türkiye. The participants also discussed preparations for another conference entitled “Coexistence and Culture in the Region Throughout History,” which is scheduled to be hosted in Erbil in February 2027.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of strengthening academic cooperation among member universities and supporting joint initiatives that contribute to the advancement of higher education and scientific research at both regional and international levels.
