Nawroz University Joins Global Ecosia Campaign to Promote Environmental Awareness

Nawroz University has joined the global Ecosia campaign as part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and a culture of sustainability among students, academic staff, and employees, while encouraging the university community to contribute to environmental protection and support tree planting through the everyday use of technology.

As part of the campaign, the Health and Safety Directorate at the Presidency of Nawroz University, in cooperation with Ecosia, will organize a series of seminars and awareness activities across the University. The programme will engage academic staff, students, and Health and Safety Committees from the University’s colleges, focusing on tree planting, environmental protection, reducing the carbon footprint, and ways of supporting environmental projects through the use of the Ecosia search engine.

The University will also promote the campaign across campus and through its digital and social media platforms, while providing QR codes to facilitate access to Ecosia and encourage students and staff to participate in the initiative.

Ecosia is a search engine that dedicates its profits to climate action, particularly supporting tree-planting and ecosystem restoration projects in different parts of the world.

Nawroz University’s participation in the campaign, under the slogan “Plant a Tree for Kurdistan!”, reflects its commitment to strengthening environmental responsibility and translating sustainability awareness into practical action across the university community.
