Nawroz University held its 19th and 20th graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, celebrating 1,324 graduates from the classes of 2024–2025 and 2025–2026. The graduates represented twelve academic departments across five colleges: Law and Political Science, Administration and Economics, Science, Languages, and Engineering.
The ceremony was attended by Mr Dilshad Shahab, representing the President of the Kurdistan Region; Dr Ibrahim Rashid, representing the Region’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and Mr Aram Akreyi of Vision Education, alongside government, political party, and university representatives and a large gathering of graduates’ families.
In his address, University President Assistant Professor Dr Mevan Arif Abdulrahman congratulated the graduates and their families. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to improving educational quality and developing academic programmes that meet community and labour market needs, encouraging graduates to continue learning and contribute to society.
The ceremony also featured addresses by representatives of the Kurdistan Region Presidency and the Ministry, and by Mr Armanj Abdulaziz, representing the Kurdistan Students and Youth Union. Graduate Nozhin Abdulaziz Waisi delivered the graduates’ address.
The proceedings included awards for the top three graduates from each department in both classes and the graduation oath. A fireworks display brought the celebration to a close.
