Nawroz University announces its Sixth International Conference on Humanities, entitled:

“The Borders of Kurdistan and Its Historical Provinces: Formation, Demarcation, and Geopolitical Transformations”

The conference will be held on 17–18 April 2027.

The conference will explore the political, geographical, and historical borders of Kurdistan and its provinces, as well as the transformations they have undergone throughout different historical periods. Particular attention will be given to the impact of treaties, agreements, and regional and international policies on the redrawing of borders in the region and their implications for political and social realities and Kurdish identity.

The conference welcomes scholarly contributions across four main themes: historical and geographical; legal; political; and social and Kurdish identity, providing a multidisciplinary platform for examining the borders of Kurdistan, its historical provinces, and their geopolitical transformations.

Nawroz University invites researchers and academics to submit papers in Kurdish, Arabic, English, Turkish, or Persian. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words and should include five keywords. Full papers should not exceed 10,000 words and should follow the Harvard referencing style.

Important Dates

• 20 October 2026: Deadline for abstract submission
• 5 November 2026: Notification of abstract acceptance
• 15 January 2027: Deadline for full paper submission
• 1 March 2027: Notification of full paper acceptance
• 17–18 April 2027: Conference dates

The conference will cover accommodation expenses for accepted participants during the conference, while participants will be responsible for their own travel and transportation expenses to and from the conference venue.
