This meta-analysis aimed to determine Serum cholinesterase (ChE) activity decreases in COVID 19 patients. The final selection for the meta-analysis comprised 13 published studies that reported 17 records of serum ChE activity in 1402 patients with COVID-19 compared to 924 cohort counterparts. The meta-analysis was a randomized effects size model using percentages of mean (±SD) of serum ChE values of COVID-19 patients vs. their corresponding cohorts. This meta analysis of serum ChE indicates that it is significantly reduced in COVID-19, which might be a valuable prognostic biomarker.
