On October 26, 2026, the Department of Tourism Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, Nawroz University, organized a scientific field trip for 7th-semester students to the Jiyan Tourist Hotel in Duhok. The activity was conducted under the supervision of the lecturer of "Tourism Safety and Security," (Lecturer: Qasim Kamal Abdulkareem).
The objective of this academic visit was to bridge theoretical classroom knowledge with practical, real-world application. During the trip, students gained hands-on insights into security procedures, safety systems, emergency preparedness, and guest protection protocols within hospitality establishments—concepts previously studied theoretically in the "Tourism Safety and Security" course.
For their part, the technical and administrative staff at Jiyan Hotel provided practical briefings and demonstrations covering protection systems, hall and room management controls, and safety compliance standards. Students learned how to implement core tourism security principles in daily hotel operations to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests.
