Physiotherapy Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
Job Description
Nawroz University is seeking a qualified and motivated Physiotherapy Teaching Assistant to join the Department of Physiotherapy, College of Science, on a full-time basis.
The Teaching Assistant will support the delivery of undergraduate physiotherapy education, practical and laboratory sessions, student learning, and departmental academic activities. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to a professional, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lecturers in delivering theoretical, practical, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate students.
- Support students during practical training, demonstrations, and clinical-related learning activities.
- Prepare and organize teaching materials, practical sessions, and laboratory equipment.
- Assist in assessing students’ practical skills, assignments, and examinations as assigned.
- Provide academic guidance and appropriate support to students.
- Maintain accurate records related to teaching and student activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic activities, and university events when required.
- Support research and other academic activities of the department.
- Follow university academic policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Perform other relevant academic duties assigned by the Head of Department or Dean.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized university.
- 3–5 years of relevant academic or professional experience in physiotherapy.
- Strong practical knowledge of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and related clinical practices.
- Ability to support undergraduate students in practical and laboratory learning.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Good command of English, particularly academic and professional terminology.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and other relevant educational tools.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to work effectively in an academic environment and follow university policies and procedures.
- Candidates must meet the applicable academic and employment requirements in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
