Biography

Ali Abdulkadir Muhammad is an Assistant Lecturer at Nawroz University in Duhok, as well as a highly experienced counselor and psychotherapist. He holds a Master’s degree from the Institute of Psychotherapy and Traumatology at the University of Tubingen, Germany, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Duhok. His professional expertise spans over a decade, focusing on psychological counseling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, case management, and mental health treatment planning. Among his significant achievements, Mr. Muhammad is recognized as an award-winning content creator at Cihan University. He has made a substantial contribution to Kurdish psychology by successfully translating the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) into Kurdish and authoring the book TORE NEBE. His teaching portfolio includes core subjects such as Developmental, Personality, Clinical, and Social Psychology, along with Mental Health. His research focuses on the correlation between PTSD and depression, as well as the long-term impacts of childhood trauma. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, he actively contributes to the academic community by managing departmental operations, updating curriculum standards, supervising student research, and organizing specialized workshops and academic conferences.
