Sultan Ahmed Taro is an Iraqi-Kurdish academic, legal scholar, and lecturer at the Universities of Nawroz and Duhok. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Politics from the University of Duhok and furthered his legal qualifications by earning a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Valparaiso University in the United States.

With a strong academic background, his core expertise lies in criminal law, legal research, and cross-lingual translation, being fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, and English. As an active researcher, his scholarly contributions focus heavily on criminal law, encompassing both substantive penal law and criminal procedure law. Furthermore, his academic responsibilities include teaching both of these aspects, alongside specialized courses in criminal investigation and criminology.
