Rawand is an Architect and a holder of a Master of Science in Architecture (Conservation) from Sapienza University of Rome, currently working as an Assistant Lecturer.

He focuses on architectural conservation, the adaptive reuse of historic structures, sustainable rehabilitation and the documentation of cultural heritage. He holds a prestigious academic record including graduating with top marks (110/110) and an Erasmus+ exchange at the Technical University of Munich. He teaches undergraduate architectural design studios, building materials and construction, freehand drawing, and architectural survey in the architecture school, as well as urban design.

His research is in the fields of heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, historic urban regeneration and sustainable design; investigating matters that balance cultural heritage preservation with functional demands of contemporary life. His teaching, research, and academic collaboration engage with advancing knowledge in the fields of architectural conservation, contribute to sustainable heritage practices, and support the education and professional development of future architects.
