Dr. Weadi Sulaiman Ali is a distinguished Senior Legal Advisor to the Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament and a Professor of Criminal Law. He earned his PhD in Law from the University of Baghdad in 2008, specializing in procedural legality under exceptional circumstances.

With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Ali possesses deep expertise in criminal law, criminal procedure, and constitutional matters. His major achievements include serving as a certified expert before the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq, leading key parliamentary fact-finding committees, and being commissioned by the Minister of Higher Education to author a definitive national textbook on criminal procedures.

As a dedicated educator, he has taught core subjects such as the penal code, criminology, and human rights at several regional and international universities, including Near East University in Cyprus. He actively contributes to the academic community by conducting legal research, participating in international conferences, and supervising over 50 Master’s and PhD candidates globally. Additionally, he has evaluated more than 100 doctoral dissertations and master’s theses, reinforcing rigorous standards across legal education.
