aravan Waheed Hasan is a distinguished academic and lecturer at the College of Languages, Nawroz University. His scholarly foundation was established at the University of Duhok, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kurdish Language and Literature. Driven by a passion for advanced linguistic studies, he later obtained a Master’s degree in Kurdish Language from Mardin Artuklu University in Türkiye in 2019. His academic profile is characterized by a unique ability to bridge the structural appreciation of the Kurdish language with contemporary linguistic methodologies. In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. Hasan possesses an extensive professional background spanning over fourteen years in organizational management and institutional administration. This journey began as the Human Resources Manager for the Kurds Organization from 2010 to 2014. He then dedicated a decade to the Presidency of Nawroz University, serving as an HR specialist and administrative officer from 2014 to 2017, before being promoted to the role of Administrator and HR Lead, a position he held from 2017 until 2024. This extensive administrative experience has provided him with a profound understanding of institutional leadership and academic governance. In 2024, Mr. Hasan transitioned into a full-time academic role as a lecturer at the College of Languages. His research interests are firmly rooted in general linguistics, with a particular focus on Pragmatics, Semantics, and Phonetics. He is especially interested in the study of Speech Acts, examining how speakers utilize language to perform specific actions and convey complex intentions within social contexts. Through his current teaching position, he combines his practical expertise in management with his theoretical knowledge of linguistics to enrich the educational mission of his department and support the academic development of his students.
