Biography
Dr. Sherzad Hamid Hrori is a Lecturer and faculty member at the College of Law and Political Science at Nawroz University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in the Department of Law and the Department of International Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in Private Law, alongside a Master's degree in Private Law, a second Master's degree in Political Science (International Relations), and a Higher Diploma in Public Law.
Dr. Sherzad's areas of expertise encompass private international law, personal status law, foreign investment law and labour law. He is currently Director General of Social Welfare of Duhok Governorate with more than 15 years of experience in the high ranks of administration. He is also a Certified International Arbitrator by the International Arbitration Board at Cairo University in Administrative and International Commercial Contracts.
Dr. Sherzad has made significant contributions in the form of academic seminars at Nawroz University on such issues as foreign investment guarantees, legal protection of persons with disabilities, the legislative omission in the oil and gas sector, and child labour law. He is a member of federal coordination committees representing the Kurdistan Regional Government, and has been on postgraduate thesis examination panels. His research spans the fields of legal scholarship and public policy, and he is a well-recognized scholar and public policy contributor in the Kurdistan Region.
