Biography

Professor Ali Haider Saad Ali is a Professor of Architecture and Dean of the College of Engineering at Nawroz University, Iraq, with more than three decades of academic, research, and administrative experience in architectural education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Mosul, and both master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Technology, specializing in Human Settlements and Theories of Architecture and Architectural Design Strategies.

His expertise encompasses architectural design, architectural theory, urban design, design methodology and logic, heritage conservation, spatial configuration, shape grammars, housing, and sustainable urbanism. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals and conferences, supervised a substantial number of MSc and PhD theses, and held several academic leadership positions, including Head of the Architecture Department and Dean of Engineering College.

Professor Ali teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in architectural design, theory, philosophy, criticism, urban design, and design methodology. His research focuses on architectural theory, heritage conservation, spatial analysis, sustainable housing, urban morphology, and computational approaches to architectural design. Through scholarly publications, postgraduate supervision, international conferences, professional memberships, and academic leadership, he continues to contribute to the advancement of architectural education, research, and professional practice both nationally and internationally.
